Having built up a sizeable and successful business, Tim recently decided to hang up his gardening gloves and sold his business on. Tim had been with Ed's almost ten years and when the opportunity arose to sell, he decided it was too good an opportunity to miss. Anita, our Ed's Operator in Wimbledon, had made an joint investment offer to Tim, with her longstanding friend, Graeme, who was in the process of relocating from Zimbabwe to the UK. Graeme is taking the operational lead on the business, delivering the ongoing gardening services.

I took redundancy after 20 years in IT support in 2008. I had done fencing, paving, strimming and mowing in my own garden and enjoy being outdoors, so I was attracted to an Ed's business opportunity. I researched several franchises as well as Ed's and got advice from the British Franchise Organisationwww.thebfa.org. I also chatted with some Ed's operators and tried on-site work experience offered by Ed's so I could understand the role. I liked what I saw, the financial investment was reasonable and there was an initial guarantee of work so I decided to sign up. Since starting I have had constant work and have never looked back. I now employ staff and have a very good standard of living and lots of holidays. Redundancy can sometimes be a great thing!
