Steve's gardening business
Well here I am, four years down the line! Being part of Ed's has been a real personal growth journey for me. I can't quite believe how much I have developed in confidence, never mind skills. It was as if, when I took on the responsibility of running my own Ed's business, I developed the confidence required to do it properly. The work has always been interesting and challenging and I have a lot of lovely customers. I have also realised just how interested I am in all things horticultural and I have had the flexibility with my business to be able to develop that knowledge base. We have the Ed's Wisley training sessions which have given me great foundations but I have taken this a step further and done specific courses on permaculture, an area which I find really interesting.

I'd often thought it would be great to have my own gardening business but part of me was scared of the responsibility of it. The idea became even more attractive when I started working for an Ed's Operator and got to see first hand how successful those guys can be. When my boss decided to move abroad, I knew I would always regret it if I didn't take a leap of faith and buy her business. That was only a few months ago and I'm still shaping my business. However, the support I've had from Ed's, both practical and motivational, has been great and I can't believe how much more confident I've become already.

I recently acquired an established garden maintenance business from an existing Ed's Operator, who had spent five years growing a successful business and wanted to cash it in and do something different. I have a background in the service sector and wanted to buy my own business to run. I wasn't too ..
I've recently celebrated my 10th anniversary as an Ed's Operator. I was asked how I wanted to celebrate and I chose to just have a low-key night at the pub with Ed. I'm not one for a lot of fuss. We had a good time reminiscing about the early days and talking about how far we've come as a business, ..
I've now been with Ed's eight years. Life has changed a lot since then. I've got married (Ed was at the wedding!), my wife and I have had two children, who one minute were babies and the next were going to school. We've also moved house a couple of times. All very exciting, albeit expensive. It is ..
