Ed’s supported Older People’s Day on 1 October

Ed’s Garden Maintenance franchisees supported Older People’s Day with the offer of a free lawn mowing service on 1 October to over 70s in their local area.
Marc Miles in Leighton Buzzard, Clive Edmonds in Hampton,  Steve Frise in Walton-on-Thames, and  Marcus Richardson in Wokingham all participated.

Franchisor Edward Mauleverer said, “It’s great to see the spirit of putting back alive and well  amongst our operators.  One of the great frustrations of the elderly is their inability to look after their gardens as they get older and are less able to do such a physical job.  I should know, as a school boy I was part of a team who worked in the community tending gardens of the elderly.  It was heavy going as many would be incredibly over-grown.  It was around that time that my love of the gardening and being outdoors really kicked in; something that stayed with me and was obviously the seed of Ed’s Garden Maintenance which I founded 11 years ago turning my back on corporate life to do something more meaningful.”
